Two bright young sisters, Priyanka and Pratima Morey come from an artistic and design inclined home, with their father being the founder of the furniture and interior decor firm “Nirmitee Furniture”. Both sisters began with pursuing individual career paths in Interior Design and Fashion Marketing. Today, they have come together with not only their own expertise but also the backing of Nirmitee House, to create a platform that celebrates and showcases a world of art, design and fashion.
Priyanka and Pratimas ‘Pop Up Shop’ is a curated stage that creates an accessible bridge between artist and audience. The artist for each pop up showcase is handpicked by both sisters; they customise the space that is Nirmitee House, to fit the needs of each artist. The most unique aspect of this endeavour is the range of artists that they would like to showcase, from more traditional art to architects, fashion entrepreneurs and even literary personalities; they are open to all avenues of art, design and fashion.
The P and P pop up journey began with a showcase that highlighted the work of architect Mayuresh Shirolkar, a man of many talents, an architect and Urban Sketcher. He also teaches at BNCA in Pune. Mayuresh specifically showcased a unique collection of his sketches. He has been sketching landmarks around Pune City and recently put together a beautiful series of sketches of Bhutan which were proudly displayed at the pop up shop.
The engrossing display was only the first of a number of more showcases that the girls at P & P have planned. It will only be a matter of time until Priyanka and Pratima can let us in on their latest artistic find.
